The faculty combines sound academic training with practical exposure to equip students with the skills needed to manage farms, agribusinesses and community-based development initiatives. Our programmes emphasise agricultural economics, extension services, rural leadership and policy, enabling graduates to tackle real-world challenges in food production, market access and rural livelihoods. As a faculty, we are committed to shaping experts who will strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural value chain and support inclusive development across rural areas.
Our History
The College of Agricultural Sciences at Olabisi Onabanjo University officially commenced on 1st October 1983 in Ayetoro. Following the suspension of the multi-campus system, it was relocated to Ago-Iwoye in October 1984. The college, at its inception, comprised four departments: the Department of Animal Production, the Department of Crop Production, the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, and the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.
In December 1998, in order to succinctly deliver on the mission of the College, the collegiate structure took off with the creation of two faculties, viz., the Faculty of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (FAMARD) and the Faculty of Agricultural Production and Renewable Resources (FAPRER).
