Youth Friendly Centre (YFC)

The Youth Friendly Centre (YFC) at OOU is a facility under the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), focusing on the unique health and social needs of our student population.

Our mission is to promote the overall well-being of students by providing accessible, comprehensive, and youth-centred health services, empowering them to make informed decisions and achieve their academic and personal goals.

Services Offered:

  1. Health Education and Counselling: We offer tailored health education and one-on-one counselling sessions, addressing physical, emotional, and sexual health concerns in a safe and supportive environment.

  2. HIV Testing and Counselling: Confidential HIV testing services are available, accompanied by pre- and post-test counselling to support students in understanding their status and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

  3. Recreational Activities and Stress Relief: Our game room is equipped with board games, table tennis, and video games, providing students with opportunities to relax and manage stress effectively.

  4. Mental Health Support: We provide counselling services to assist students in coping with stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges, fostering a supportive environment for open conversations about mental well-being.

  5. Sexual and Reproductive Health Services: Our centre offers family planning advice, STI testing and treatment, and contraceptive services, enabling students to make informed choices about their reproductive health.
