The Department of Earth Sciences, Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), is proud to celebrate a moment of distinction for the University at the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) 2026, held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Dr. Mosuro Omotola Ganiyu, a faculty member of the Department of Earth Sciences and Faculty Advisor to the SPE OOU Student Chapter, joined Damilola Oluwole, a 300 Level student of Geology, at the prestigious Oil Industry Night, where Damilola was honoured with the First Prize and the Dr. Olumide Philips Scholarship (DROP) Award.
The award recognises outstanding promise and achievement among petroleum engineering and geosciences students across the country, and reflects the strength of mentorship within the SPE OOU Student Chapter under Dr. Mosuro’s guidance.
Speaking on the achievement, the Department of Earth Sciences commended Damilola’s dedication and academic excellence, noting that the recognition is a testament to the quality of training and mentorship students receive within the department and through their active participation in SPE chapter activities.
The Department extends its congratulations to Damilola Oluwole on this outstanding achievement.
