Admission and Application
Admission into our postgraduate programmes reflects the university’s dedication to maintaining rigorous academic standards. Applicants are expected to demonstrate academic readiness, research potential, and professional suitability for their chosen field.
Candidates for the Postgraduate Diploma must possess a first degree or Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit) from a recognised institution. Academic and professional master’s applicants typically require at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in relevant disciplines, with professional applicants also considered based on industry qualifications or a prior postgraduate diploma. Admission to the PhD programme requires a master’s degree with a strong academic record—normally a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50 on a 5-point scale for direct PhD entry, or 3.00–3.49 for admission through the M.Phil./PhD route.
All applicants must also satisfy the university’s O-Level matriculation requirements, including credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, and provide evidence of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) completion or exemption. Transcripts from previous institutions are required to be sent directly to the Postgraduate School.
The admission and registration process is managed online via the Postgraduate School Portal. Applicants can check admission status, pay acceptance and tuition fees, verify credentials, complete registration, and print necessary forms through the portal. Detailed guidelines for each step of the process, as well as document submission and verification procedures, are available on the Postgraduate Admission page and updates page.
