Pre-Degree Programme

The pre‑degree is a foundational one-year programme designed to prepare students for degree-level study. The programme covers a wide range of disciplines, including arts, education, engineering, law, medicine, pharmacy, science, and social sciences, ensuring that participants acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in undergraduate programmes.

Purpose of the Pre‑Degree Programme

The Pre‑Degree Programme provides broader access to university education, particularly for those who require additional academic preparation. It allows students to:

  1. Meet university entry standards through structured learning;
  2. Re-sit or improve O’Level results where necessary;
  3. Transition smoothly into degree-level programmes once the foundational year is complete.
  4. Prepare academically while benefiting from a supportive learning environment at the CCED Mini Campus.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the Pre‑Degree Programme, applicants must:

  1. Have a minimum of five O-Level credits, obtained in one or two sittings;
  2. Include English Language among the credit passes.
  3. For Science-based streams, also have credit in Mathematics and three other relevant science subjects;
  4. For Social Science streams, credit in Mathematics and three relevant social science subjects;
  5. For Arts-based streams, credit in four Arts subjects;

Study Centres

The Pre‑Degree Programme is available at the following CCED study centres:

  1. CCED Mini Campus, Ago‑Iwoye.
  2. Sango‑Otta Study Centre
  3. Ojodu/Berger Study Centre

Application Process

To apply for the Pre‑Degree Programme:

  1. Complete the Pre‑Degree application form on the CCED Admission Portal.
  2. Provide personal details, choice of study centre, and intended programme of study.
  3. Upload O-Level results and any other required credentials.
  4. Pay the application fee through the available online or on-site payment options.
  5. Apply and print a copy of the confirmation slip for your records.

Next Steps After Completion

Upon successful completion of the Pre‑Degree Programme, students become eligible to apply for first-degree admission into any of our undergraduate programmes, provided they meet the specific departmental and faculty admission requirements.
