The Department of Educational Management and Business Studies is one of the foundational Departments in the Faculty of Education, committed to achieving excellence in teaching, research and community service. The Department focused on distinct and professional courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, where we provide rigorous training in core educational courses such as business education, accounting, marketing, office systems management, educational management, institutional administration, entrepreneurship education, contemporary and policy issues, human resource management, and a host of others. These are geared towards preparing the students towards becoming useful to themselves and contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation.

The vision of the Department of Educational Management and Business Studies is to produce and sustain the production of qualified human capacity to man the Nigerian educational system in the areas of instructional management at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, business-related studies and entrepreneurship education pursued through quality research, teaching and community service.

Subuola Catherine ABOSEDE is a Professor and a researcher in Educational Management, with specialisation in Human Resource Management in Education, focusing on gender issues in educational management, entrepreneurship education, teaching pedagogy and instructional practices. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Educational Management in 2010. She is currently serving as the Head of Department of Educational Management and Business Studies, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria.
Her research work contributed immensely in the areas of human resource management and educational system administration, a broad range of possible predictors of academic performance/achievement of students, job performance of teachers/secretaries and educational managers at both the secondary and university levels, gender studies in relations to variables such as stress, job satisfaction, gender inequality in education, performance of managerial functions, academic performance and achievement, COVID-19 and its effects of higher education.
Professor Abosede’s interest is in the application of pedagogical skills in imparting knowledge to students and making them better in their chosen careers. She is also very passionate about mentoring and advising the students and junior colleagues.
In her capacity as the Head of Department, she oversees a wide range of academic and administrative activities, seeing to the welfare of both staff and students, coordinating staff and students, committed to the vision and mission of the Department, fostering academic excellence, and encouraging collaborative research among members within the Department, the university and outside the university. She encourages innovation and creativity among the staff and students. Her leadership style is tailored towards the involvement of all stakeholders in the development of the Department.

Prof Olasunkanmi Mukaila Gbadamosi attended Jehovah Jireh African Church Primary School, Moshalasi, Idi-Oro, Lagos (1964-1970), Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode (1971-1975), Methodist Teachers’ Training College, Sagamu (1976-1977) and Advanced Teachers’ College, Surulere, Lagos (1978-1981) where he obtained Nigerian Certificate in Education specializing in Economics and Geography. Furtherance to his quest for knowledge, he enrolled for his Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Education/ Guidance and Counselling (Applied Psychology) with Geography and Regional Planning as teaching subject (1986 – 1989) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Management degree (1989 -1991) at Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) as the first Postgraduate product. He had his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Planning and Administration at the University of Lagos in 1999. In fact, he is the first and the last candidate that University of Lagos ever admitted into Ph.D. direct programme despite that he never had his Master’s Degree Programme there.
Professor Olasunkanmi M. Gbadamosi began his teaching career in 1975 before joining the services of Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, in January 1991 as a Graduate Assistant and diligently walked his way up to the position of Professor of Educational Planning and Policy with special research interest in health human resource planning, development and management in 2007. He was elected Dean, Faculty of Education (2010 – 2012) and the Head, Department of Educational Management and Business Studies at various times (2007-2009) and (2016 – 2018). He has served the University in various capacities including Member and Chairman, University Town and Gown Committee and Chairman, Management Board of International School, OOU. He has contributed reasonably to the development and advancement of knowledge with 102 publications to his credit, 6 tertiary books, 69 articles in National and International Journals, 26 chapters in tertiary books and 1 Technical report. He has successfully supervised more than 180 undergraduate projects, 83 Master in Education Dissertations and more than 45 Doctoral Theses. He is currently the Chairman, Faculty of Education Quality Assurance. He is External Examiner to many Nigerian Universities and also an Assessor of many candidates to Professorial cadre.
On the National and International spheres, Professor Gbadamosi has served in various capacities. With the establishment of the Ogun State Rural Medical Scheme (OGRUMED), he presented a proposal to the then government of the state under Otunba Gbenga Daniel ( OGD ) to upgrade the then School of Health Technology, Ilese to College of Health Technology and the Government implemented the proposal, hence the emergence of the College of Health Technology (now Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences) and appointed him to serve as a Member of the Governing Council from 2005 to 2011; Member and Secretary, Transition Committee, Ijebu-Ode Local Government (2003); Consultant to World Bank on FADAMA II Project on Capacity Building and Conflict Resolution and Consultant to National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, Ondo. He was awarded Outstanding Professor of the year 2019 by African Brand Review.
He is married to Abisola Muinat Badmus (Nee Owodunni of Josi Compound, Idepo, Ijebu – Ode and a Chief Lecturer with Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences

Prof. Joshua O. Oni was educated at the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye [1982 – 1986] and the nation’s first university, the University of Ibadan, Ibadan [1987 – 1992]. He taught at primary and secondary schools in 1981/82 and 1986/87 academic sessions, respectively. He joined the services of the University on 1st October, 1987.
Since 1987 to date, he has been engaged in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has also been engaged in research activities by attending workshops, seminars, conferences at home and oversees; and publishing journal articles, edited books, and books. Altogether, he has more than 50 publications to his credit. He has equally served the University as Head of Department at two different times, and as Faculty Coordinator, Centre for Sandwich Programmes, for two years.
His awards include the following: ‘Long Service Award in Recognition of Contribution to the Development of Olabisi Onabanjo University’; ‘Award for Distinguished and Selfless Services rendered to the Centre for Sandwich Programmes, Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Between 1998 and 1999 while serving as the Faculty of Education Coordinator’; and ‘Service Award in Appreciation and Recognition of Service as Session Discussant for the 2008 Conference of the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines held at Orlando, Florida, United States of America, between January 3-6, 2008’.

Professor Olumuyiwa Babatunde Adeyemi joined the services of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, as a Graduate Assistant in 1997. He rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Educational Management in 2019 in the Department of Educational Management and Business Studies, Faculty of Education.
Aside teaching various courses in his area of specialisation, Professor Adeyemi has to his credit over 60 publications in peer-reviewed Journals locally and internationally, four (4) textbooks on Educational Management which prominently focused on Universal Basic Education Programme and has attended several professional Conferences, Workshops, and Seminars within and outside the country where he presented well-researched papers. He has successfully supervised many undergraduate students’ projects, over 60 Master dissertations and 30 Doctoral theses (supervised and co-supervised).

A body reputed for its advocacy for socio-political advancement for good governance in Nigeria and the continent of Africa. Due to his passion for the less privileged, Professor Adeyemi established a Professorial Endowment foundation for the advancement of Basic Education of children of the less privileged. Adeyemi is a recipient of many awards for his numerous contributions to academic research advancement, creative works and community service. He is happily married with children.

Brief Profile
Dr. Dosunmu had her secondary school education between 1981 and 1986 at the Odo-Ona High School, Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, where she excelled academically and socially. She later gained admission to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) and graduated in 1995. She went further after the youth service to attend the University of Ibadan for a Post-graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 1998. She had a first degree (B.Sc) at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in 2009. A second degree (M.Ed) at the same university in 2010 and had Ph.D in Business Education in 2017.
She is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. Member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria. Member, Association of Business Educators of Nigeria. An assessor, with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, marking the subject – Corporate Strategic Management and Ethics. Dr. Dosunmu has over 25 scholarly journal articles in areas of Entrepreneurial Studies, Information Communication and Technology, Business Education and Educational Management. She is a Senior Lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University teaching undergraduate and post-graduates courses.

Abolaji Olugbenga Bukki is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Management and Business Studies at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. He was born on the 18th October, 1978 and he is a native of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State. He hold Ph.D, Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Business Education. He has demonstrated tangible interest in continuous learning from his teachers and colleagues through his scholarly contributions in both theoretical and empirical works in the area of Business Education, this informed his researches and publications on Education, Business Education, Entrepreneurship Education and SMEs at various levels of institutions. Dr Bukki is a teacher and an entrepreneurial initiator.

Hakeem J. Edun was born on the 23rd March, 1977 in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State. He had his Primary Education in Jehovah Jireh African Church School, Ilaro, Ogun state in 1989. His Secondary Education was in Itolu Community High School, Ilaro in 1995. He studied Secretarial Studies in Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, both at National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels (ND & HND) in the years 1999 and 2003 respectively. After his NYSC, he had his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in the year 2009 from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
In his quest for further knowledge, he registered and enrolled for Bachelor of Secretarial Education (B.SE) and Masters in Education (M.Ed) in Business Education in the years 2014 and 2015 respectively from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye. He also proceeded to University of Benin, Benin-City, where he had his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Education in the year 2023. He has published in reputable journals both locally and internationally. He teaches Business Education courses in Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. He is happily married with children.
