The Department of Business Administration is one of the foundation departments at the inception of the university in 1982. It was initially under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (SMS), it came under the Faculty of Management Science and is now housed under the Faculty of Administration and Management Science (FAMS). The Department of Business Administration is reputed for providing rigorous and qualitative academic training for several categories of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Vision
The department shall provide students with an all-rounded education which prepares the students for a creative and productive role in business, as well as a capacity for self-development, while maintaining the highest ethical and moral standards.

Our B.Sc Marketing and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes are also nearing completion.

Dr Michael Segun OGUNMUYIWA is a Reader and researcher in business administration and management with expertise in marketing and entrepreneurship. His special foci areas are micro and small-scale entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurial survival and entrepreneurial development as well as studies on entrepreneurial marketing. He bagged his PhD in Business Administration in 2016 with a special bias in Financial Management, where he wrote on the topic Macroeconomic Indicators and Firms’ Shares Performance in Nigeria. He is currently the Acting Head of the Department of Business Administration at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
His researches focus on the uncontrollable nature of the systematic risk factors and its influence on business performance and the impact these factors have on firms’ share returns in Nigeria. In addition, his research efforts have also been geared towards the impact of micro finance and micro credit on small and micro scale business development in Nigeria. His recent studies focus on marketing, small business finance, entrepreneurship development, entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial finance.
In his capacity as Acting Head of Department in the Department of Business Administration, he ensures participative and quality leadership through mentoring and coordination of staff and students, as well as upholding the academic standard of the department in all its academic programmes. He’s passionate about projecting the image of the department through the production of quality graduates in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
