College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES)

The College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES) at the Ibogun Campus is where innovation meets real-world application. The college prepares students to become professional engineers, designers, and environmental planners equipped with the technical skills and problem-solving capacity to tackle Nigeria’s infrastructural and environmental challenges.

Our programmes are designed in line with the National Universities Commission (NUC) and professional regulatory bodies such as the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), and the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV).

1. Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering trains students to design, innovate, and apply modern technology to solve practical problems in industry and society. Each programme blends theoretical instruction with laboratory work, field experience, and design projects.

2. Faculty of Environmental Studies

This faculty equips students with the creative, technical, and analytical expertise to design, build, and manage physical environments that are functional, aesthetic, and sustainable.

The faculty produces professionals who shape modern cities, buildings, and infrastructure systems through sustainable design and management.

Laboratories, Workshops, and Design Studios

Students of CEES benefit from purpose-built laboratories, computer-aided design studios, mechanical workshops, and surveying equipment that foster hands-on learning and innovation. Collaborative projects and industry visits also ensure strong professional readiness.

Odufuwa, B.O. is a Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Earned the National Certificate of Education (N.C.E.) in Geography and Biology at the Tai Solarin College of Education, Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Geography and Regional Planning, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Msc. from the University of Ibadan. A three time winner of the International Fellowship Awards of the Netherlands Government to undertake a Master’s degree in Urban Development and Management; and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Urban Management Tools for Climate Change (UMTCC) at the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies, Erasmus University, Rotterdam the Netherlands, and a Refresher Course on Pro-Poor and Gender-Equitable Innovation in Western Africa (PGILWA) at OAU. He got the Education Trust Fund Award for a Short Course on Professional Certificate in Strategic Climate Change Adaptation at the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, London, United Kingdom. He has to his credit over Eighty-Five 85 published academic articles in journals and books. He co-edited four (4) books in his field of study. Prof. Odufuwa research focuses on public transportation planning and management, gender and crime. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planning and a registered member of the Town Planning Registration Council of Nigeria; Member, Gender and Transport Community of Practice (GATNET); Member, Transport Planning Society, United Kingdom. In his capacity as Provost, College of Engineering and Environmental Studies, he coordinate academic and administrative activities in the College. He is passionate towards enhanced learning, research and collaboration with allied or relevant stakeholders in the society. He has attended several conferences, workshops, training and seminars within and outside the country where he contributed to planning knowledge and development of the society. Odufuwa contributes to development of the University meritoriously in different capacities and committees at various times; Chairman Publications Committee of the College; member, University Development Committee; Member, University Disciplinary Committee, Chairman, Quality Assurance Faculty of Environmental Studies; Chairman, CEES Time Table Committee; Member, CEES, Accreditation Committee; Departmental Seminar Coordinator; Member, Curriculum Review Committee; among others. He also served as Sub-Dean, College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (2014-2016; Head of Department, Urban & Regional Planning (2016-2018); Ag. Dean, Faculty of Environmental Studies (2020-2021)
