Academic Affairs Division

The Academic Affairs Division is a core unit within the registry of the university, primarily responsible for managing all undergraduate academic processes from admission to graduation. This division ensures that students’ academic journeys are seamless, transparent, and aligned with the University’s standards.

Under the leadership of the Deputy Registrar, the division plays a pivotal role in facilitating student intake, records management, and certification, supporting both academic progress and post-graduation verification needs.

Units Under the Division

1. Admissions Unit

The Admissions Unit oversees all undergraduate admissions processes, from the receipt and verification of application forms to the registration of newly admitted students. The unit ensures that all entry requirements are met, coordinates merit and direct entry admissions, and guides prospective students regarding programmes, application procedures, and University policies.

2. Examinations and Records Unit

This unit is responsible for administering undergraduate examinations, including scheduling, supervision, and results processing. It maintains accurate academic records, monitors student performance, and ensures compliance with the University’s examination regulations. The unit also coordinates with faculties to ensure the timely release of results.

3. Transcript Unit

The Transcript Unit manages the preparation and issuance of official academic transcripts. It provides authenticated academic records to students for further studies, employment, or professional certification. The unit ensures that all transcript requests are processed efficiently and securely.

4. Certificate Unit

The Certificate Unit handles the production and distribution of graduation certificates and other official documents. It coordinates with relevant authorities to verify student eligibility for awards and ensures that all certificates are accurate, properly documented, and delivered promptly.

5. Verification Unit

The Verification Unit is responsible for authenticating student academic credentials, including certificates and transcripts, for external organisations, prospective employers, and other academic institutions. This unit safeguards the credibility of OOU’s academic records and supports the University’s reputation for integrity.
